- START > CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK AND INTERNET CONNECTIONS
- CREATE A CONNECITON TO THE NETWORK AT YOU WORKPLACE
- VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORK CONNECTION
- Company Name: KIMCONNECT.COM
- Host Name or IP: KIMCONNECT.COM
- (click add shortcut to desktop for ease of connection)
- FINISHED
- Now open the VPN on your desktop and fill in information:
UserName: KIMCONNECT\yomama (this is your username – first initial last name)
Password: <this is your network password>
- Click Connect. You should now be connected
- Click START
- RIGHT CLICK – MY COMPUTER (important RIGHT CLICK!!!)
- Click PROPERTIES
- Click COMPUTER NAME tab
- Click CHANGE button
- Select DOMAIN and type in: KIMCONNECT.com
- Click OK – a username and password box will pop up.
- Type in username:KIMCONNECT\jonito
- Type in password: chicken
- Click Ok – system will take about 2 minutes and then say WELCOME TO KIMCONNECT. Click OK. OK. And OK. System will now be restarted. Click YES.
IMPORTANT BEFORE LOGGING IN FOR FIRST TIME……Make sure you check the dial up box below!!!! Keep reading. ..
- Click the CRTL ALT DELETE
- Click OPTIONS button
- Change the username to KIMCONNECT\jonito (this is your username – first initial last name)
- Type in your password
- Change the LOG ON TO using drop down to KIMCONNECT
- Check the box LOG ON USING DIAL UP CONNECTION
- Click OK
<sometimes a box pops up asking for area code: type in anything (714 will work)
Click OK>
- Now a CHOOSE NETWORK CONNECTION opens. Make sure it says KIMCONNECT VPN (the thing you created in step 1)
- Click CONNECT
- You username and password now pops up (this should already be filled in but if it is not just fill in your username and password)
- Click CONNECT <The system will now log you in as your useraccount on the KIMCONNECT network>
Now setup Outlook for the first time ( you will change settings later)
- Open Outlook
- Click NEXT
- Click YES and NEXT
- Select MICROSOFT EXCHANGE SERVER and NEXT
- Fill in Microsoft Exchange Server Name: EXCHANGE01
- Fill in username: jonito (this is your username)
- Click CHECK NAME (it should underline after about 30 seconds)
- Click NEXT
- Click FINISH – first Sync takes sometime…so get some coffee…….done
Now go to rpc http certificate step…………..
